April 26, 2019, StPLC Events Update

Outside Cleanup Day This Saturday

The outdoor cleanup event is happening this Saturday, April 27th from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Help beautify Saint Peter grounds. We will cut back bushes, plant flowers, and a whole lot more. See you there! (Next event planned for Saturday, May 4th.)

StPLC Scholarship Deadline This Sunday

All Saint Peter members pursuing education are encouraged to apply for the StPLC $500 Scholarship. The application process requires a completed application form, an essay, personal references and a face-to-face interview with the StPLC Scholarship Committee. The deadline is this Sunday, April 28th!

Read more about the Scholarship Ministry at Saint Peter here, and if you have questions, contact Lori Williams or Ken Gerhart.

Loving Together Joyfully Appeal

The StPLC Stewardship Team is launching a special time and talents appeal beginning Sunday, May 5th lasting through Sunday, June 2nd. You will be invited to test drive a new ministry project (without any long-term commitment) at Saint Peter this summer to see which ministry roles might appeal to you down the road. Many more details to come. Hope to see you Sunday, May 5th!

All Daughter’s Brunch Saturday, May 11th

The men of Saint Peter cordially invite our moms, wives, daughters, grandmothers, nieces, sisters, aunts and extended family (you get the idea) to the eighth annual All Daughters Brunch from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11th, in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring your friends and family! We'll do our best to brighten your special day. See Steve Haigh or Alan Okerman for more information.

Make a note! Saint Peter’s summer worship schedule starts Sunday, May 26th. Communion services will be held at 8:00 a.m. (outdoor) and 10:00 a.m. (indoor).

3 Ways To Support StPLC Youth Mission Trip Fundraising

1) Donate your spare change. You’ll find the big pickle jar in the Narthex on your way out of the Worship Center. Every penny helps!

2) Rent a youth. Need a babysitter? Help with yard work? Miscellaneous chores at work or home? Contact Andy Mohrhaus to be matched up with a youth who can help.

3) Wash and worship. On May 12th and May 19th having a clean car will be made very easy! Here’s how you do it:

Step 1:  Reserve a spot based on the church service you’ll attend (look for sign-up sheet in Narthex or find Joel Waggoner).

Step 2:  On wash day, check-in at the table located near the worship entrance of the church.

Step 3:  Attend worship and sing loud praises knowing that your car is being cleaned.

Step 4:  Following service, check-out at the table located near the worship entrance .

Step 5:  Drive home smiling in your newly cleaned ride.

Thank you for helping the Saint Peter youth prepare for their upcoming trip to Mexico in June.

Breakfast With Dr. Mark and Linda Jacobson

Dr. Mark and Linda Jacobson will be in Denver and have time for a short breakfast with Saint Peter members early in the morning on Tuesday, May 14th (exact time and location TBD). The visit will include a short breakfast and time for the Jacobson's to update us on their work in Tanzania with Selian Lutheran Hospital, nursing school, and other programs.

If you are interested in attending, let Pastor Dave know so that he can reserve a space large enough for the group.

Cathy Motter, StPLC Accompanist, Begins New Adventure

After five years at Saint Peter as the accompanist, Cathy Motter and her husband, Al, are packing up and moving to Mesa, Arizona, to be nearer to family. Cathy will be greatly missed, not just because of her talent on the keys, but because of her kind spirit and contagious faith. Her last Sunday with us will be May 18th.

Best of luck, Cathy and Al!

Registration Now Open for the Selian 5k
