Another Great 11th Annual Selian 5k

Thank you to everyone who attended the 11th Annual Selian 5k on Saturday, June 8th, and especially those who volunteered their help with set-up, clean-up, registration and more! A few people deserve special mention: Carol Mayer for coordinating set-up, Brittany Hass for her amazing t-shirt design skills, Sara Lancaster for publicity and technology assistance, Steve Howie for the sound system and music, Dick Watkins for contacting sponsors, Dick and Valerie Watkins for making sure we provided plenty of water for our participants, Walt Meyer for manning the microphone, Kate Waggoner for scheduling the timer and Jeanne Dallman for providing bananas.

This was another successful year of raising money to support all the ministries of Selian Lutheran Hospital, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre, Plaster House, and especially the ALMC School of Nursing!

Saint Peter Youth Head to Mexico!

From June 23rd through the 29th, nine youth and four adults from Saint Peter will travel to Anarpa, Mexico, to help build a home for the Agustin Hinojosa Alvarez family. Please pray for the group's safe travels and that they all grow closer to God and to one another during this experience.

On Sunday, June 30th, there will be a reception between worship services to say thank you to the congregation for their generous donations that made this trip possible.

Saint Peter is hosting Rainbow Trail Day Camp again this summer from July 8th to July 11th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (11:30 a.m. for pre-k). All kids from pre-k to sixth grade are invited to attend. Registration forms available now!

Dress for Success

The Church Chicks had another successful Dress for Success clothing drive in June. Not only did Saint Peter donate a full rack of nice professional clothing, we also donated purses, shoes, wallets and jewelry. The ladies will continue to collect professional clothing items throughout the summer. The dates are as follows: July 13th, August 10th and September 14th. Contact Annie Heath with questions or to request a tax receipt.

Small Group Women’s Book Review

Calling all Saint Peter women! This is a great opportunity to explore a fresh look at sexuality in religion presented through Nadia Bolz-Weber’s latest book, Shameless: A Sexual Reformation. Read the book and meet to share and discuss! Bethany Laurie will host the event at her home on July 22nd at 7:00 p.m. Please contact Bethany for details and questions.
