Test-Drive Sunday a Great Start!

On Sunday, June 2nd, we gathered for one festive worship service (and an after-party on the Labyrinth), as we celebrated “Test-Drive Sunday” — our first opportunity to make individual commitments in response to this Spring’s Loving Together Joyfully appeal.

Saint Peter’s Stewardship Team reports, with great joy, that 54 commitment cards were presented at the altar. These 54 individuals have pledged to test-drive 152 ministry roles or projects this summer! (See the below chart for a breakdown of ministry sign-ups.)

If you are one of those who has already submitted a commitment card: thank you. A ministry leader will be in touch with you soon to discuss logistics. We will be holding you in our prayers this Summer: that as you become part of these ministries you will, indeed, experience joy as you love your God and your neighbor through your participation at Saint Peter.

Thank you to Vickie Simpson, Stewardship Team member, who built the "fruit-bearing tree" on the Labyrinth. Our recent hail storms were no match for this tree! Now that the Loving Joyfully Time & Talent Appeal is over for the Spring, you can see just how many of us have committed to test driving a ministry role or project, as indicated by each key and piece of fruit.

For those of you who have not yet submitted a commitment card, there is still time. Commitment cards and ministry descriptions will be distributed again this weekend, June 9, at both our 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. worship services. If you are unable to join us this weekend, the same materials are available online at www.stplc.org/stewardship.

In the Fall, our Stewardship Team will host another event to celebrate the end of the test-drive, and to discuss ways these experiences might propel Saint Peter's ministry teams as they plan for the coming year.

We’re off to a great start! Be sure to join us soon, and commit yourself to test-drive a ministry this Summer. Let’s all experience what it means to be Loving Together Joyfully at Saint Peter Lutheran Church.
