Confirmation Parents Meeting - August 31st

Parents of 6, 7, and 8th Grade youth are invited to attend an information meeting about this year’s confirmation program on August 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We will review the curriculum we will be using this year and discuss two alternate possible schedules, one meeting on Sunday afternoons and the other meeting on Wednesday evenings. At the meeting we will decide whether the classes will meet on Sundays or Wednesdays. Both schedules include classes, servant events and fellowship events. Confirmation is an important faith formation ministry for our youth. Please plan on attending!

14th Annual 'We Run So They May Walk' 5k - September 10

On September 10, join us to walk or run through our Greenwood Village neighborhood and enjoy fellowship on the labyrinth. Highlights of the event:

  • Professional race timing is returning!

  • Live music is also happening!

  • Miss Mary has recruited a fabulous team to provide activities and games for kids from age 3 through elementary school, both during and after the race! There are rumors of cornhole, can jam, giant Jenga, water balloons (if still hot outside), badminton, lawn darts, and make-and-take crafts.

  • The t-shirts are on order and feature a zebra design!

  • After the race, there will be social time and food, including authentic African samosas again!

  • We have some really exciting door prizes for both adults and for families!

If you have questions or want to help with set up, clean up or run registration, please contact Terri Mohrhaus, Carol Mayer or Valerie Watkins.

Bike Your Park Day Sept 26th

The last Saturday in September is Bike Your Park Day, an international event where thousands of cyclists ride in or to a park or public lands. This year Saint Peter Lutheran Church is organizing a family-friendly ride in Cherry Creek State Park on Saturday, September 24th. We will meet in the church parking lot at 9:00 a.m., ride to the park and enjoy a leisurely ride around the reservoir, enjoy a picnic lunch together, and return to the parking lot by early afternoon.

People to meet the riders with supplies for a picnic lunch are also welcome if you want to join the fun but don’t want to ride.

Please sign up on the iPad in the Narthex and invite family and friends to join the ride. The Saint Peter ride is also registered on the Adventure Cycling Association website (www.adventurecycling.org/) where you are welcome to register your participation and receive information about other cycling events.

Rocky Mountain Synod’s Excellence in Leadership

The next of Rocky Mountain Synod’s Excellence in Leadership (EiL) program begins September 26. The program is designed for rostered ministers and lay leaders, perhaps a ministry team of three or four. However, it can easily accommodate individuals who want to grow personally and spiritually.
