Council Appreciation Gathering This Friday

Come by Saint Peter at 6:30 p.m. this Friday (October 28) to say “thank you” to Bruce Stokes, Cathy Bunch and other StPLC Council Members for their years (sometimes many years!) of commitment to our congregation. Refreshments will be served.

Grillin’ For Reformation Sunday, Oct 30

The Saint Peter Men’s Group has graciously agreed to grill bratwurst and other German meats for our 5th Sunday Gathering this month. We’ll recognize Reformation Sunday and enjoy Fellowship after worship on the Labyrinth if the weather allows (otherwise inside).

Flu Shots At Saint Peter This Sunday

Saint Peter member David Kleberger, NP, will be offering flu shots to those interested in the vaccine on Sunday, October 30 after Worship in the church office. Shots are $35 paid by cash or check (made out to “Healthy Connections”). Consent forms are available in the church office before the 30th or onsite the day of.

Climbing To The Mountain Top

Did you receive the letter from Saint Peter's Stewardship Team last week? Hopefully, you've seen that the 2023 appeal theme is "Climbing to the Mountain Top." Beginning in early November, you will be hearing more from the team by way of videos, newsletter articles and much more.

Be on the lookout. There's a lot in store for the Saint Peter community in the coming months.

Updating The StPLC Prayer List

In the coming weeks, you will notice small changes to Saint Peter Lutheran Church's weekly newsletter, Our Life Together, including a revamped prayer list. Going forward, all prayers submitted will remain on the published list for four (4) weeks unless otherwise specified.

You may submit your prayer requests by calling the church office (303-770-9300), emailing prayers@stplc.org or visiting www.stplc.org/member-resources and filling out the form under the "Prayer Requests" box. You may not know it, but there are many prayer warriors in our midst at StPLC who very much want to pray for you - no matter if it's a big or a small prayer.

Whether you've experienced the loss of a loved one, are facing challenges at work or at home, have concerns for our community or the world at large, or want to celebrate a blessing or achievement, consider submitting a prayer request from time to time.

Lifelong Learning And Loving

Beginning Sunday, November 6, Saint Peter will offer an opportunity for people of all ages immediately following worship every week. In the meantime, confirmation for middle schoolers has already begun (see the StPLC calendar for dates).

ViRtual Town Hall With Bishop Gonia At StPLC Nov 12

Worried about your congregation today? Wondering what the future holds? You are not alone.

People throughout the church are experiencing doubts, fears, and uneasiness about the future. Bishop Gonia would like to talk with you about the worries and wonders you are experiencing. Together we will ponder how our congregations' ministry and witness can be shaped for the sake of the gospel. Join the Town Hall on Zoom at Saint Peter via live from First Evangelical Lutheran in Longmont.

Veteran's Day Celebration At StPLC Nov 13

Please mark your calendar for Sunday, November 13th, for a gathering in the Fellowship Hall right after worship to include a reception to honor our veterans and active duty military. This will be an opportunity to listen to stories, to learn and to extend our gratitude for their service. Please let Ms. Mary know if you are a Veteran or are active duty.

This Year's Covenant Cupboard Toy Drive

What a blessing the Saint Peter community has been to so many children who have received toys from the Covenant Cupboard Toy Drive every Christmas! Not only does Saint Peter lend its space for the event, but so many of you are generous with your donations, too.

On the Signup Genius you will find all the details, but here are the highlights again:

  • Toys should be valued between $25 and $40.

  • Leave your gifts unwrapped and label each toy with the gender and age of the child.

  • Each child will receive a stuffed animal in addition to the gift selected by their parent. You may also donate a gently used or new stuffed animal.

This year we are collecting gifts for the moms/ guardians of the children, too. Something new is always nice; but something gently used is good, too!

Drop off gifts at Saint Peter Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 19, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. (noon) or on Sunday, November 20, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Updated Worship Bags

Family Ministries’ newly updated worship bags are designed to help draw children more deeply into worship in a participatory and engaging way. The new contents include a hand-held cross, felt that matches the altar cloth color, a battery-operated candle, two activity papers specific to the day’s lessons, crayons and pencils, a finger labyrinth, and other items enabling children to be active participants in worship.

Children of all ages are welcome to use a worship bag during Sunday morning worship. Find them in the Narthex next to the Family Ministries information board.

Contemplative Prayer And Meditation This Fall

Contemplative Ministries is back again with a full schedule of meditations for fall! We have several options for adding contemplative prayer and meditation to your practice.

  • A 30-minute guided meditation will be available online via Zoom on the first and third Mondays of the month, beginning at 7:00 a.m.

  • Pastor Michael will lead centering prayer on the labyrinth on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

  • In-person contemplative prayer at Saint Peter on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Reserve Your Spot To Have Family Photos Taken At StPLC

Saint Peter staff will publish a new directory in early 2023 and we’d like to include updated images. We have arranged for Lil’ Angels Photography to come to Saint Peter on Saturday, December 10, to take photos of all who are interested.

There is no cost to have the directory photo taken, but you are welcome to purchase additional photos at your own expense. Of course, if you have a recent photo you’d prefer to use in the directory that works too! Reach out to Sara Lancaster with questions.
