Centering Prayer On The Labyrinth Tonight

Contemplative Ministries is back again with a full schedule of meditations for fall! We have several options for adding contemplative prayer and meditation to your practice.

  • A 30-minute guided meditation will be available online via Zoom on the first and third Mondays of the month, beginning at 7:00 a.m.

  • Pastor Michael will lead centering prayer on the labyrinth on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

  • In-person contemplative prayer at Saint Peter on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

No previous experience with contemplation is needed, just show up with an open heart and mind!

What God’s Work. Our Hands. Service Projects Will You Do?

God’s work. Our hands. continues at Saint Peter until Sunday, October 9th.

Now is your chance to work alongside Saint Peter friends at some familiar and some new organizations throughout the Denver area. There are also opportunities for you to do God’s work at home on your own or with family members and friends.

You’ll find the science fair displays, sign-up forms and a print version of the full catalog of opportunities in the Narthex for the next couple of weeks. You can also find lots of info online. Here’s the blog post with photos of displays and the myth vs fact cards

This coming weekend there are FIVE God's work. Our hands. service opportunities including a meal at the Delores Project on Saturday and a clean-up along the Highline Canal (Milliken Park) on Sunday. We have room for several more participants. Will you be one of them?

Thanks to last Friday’s Covenant Cupboard volunteers for sporting their God’s work. Our hands. t-shirts! If you’d like a work shirt of your own, reach out to Sara Lancaster.

Day Camp Reboot / Parents Night Out This Friday

This is such good news! The kids get the chance for fun and games and outside play right here at Saint Peter this coming Friday, Sept 16 from 6 – 9:00 p.m.

The team will fill their bellies with s’mores and pizza (just for kids) while moms, dads, grandparents and caretakers get a few hours for themselves. ALL kids ages 3-years-old through 6th grade, whether they went to Day Camp or not, are invited.

Let’s Get Stitching Saturday

Would you like to learn how to knit or crochet? Have you knitted or crocheted before but forgotten how? Are you an avid stitcher and want to share your interest with fellow stitchers?

Saint Peter Stitchers can help you get started, reintroduce or re-acquaint you to stitching or share in your passion. We meet on the third Saturday of the month, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the church. Our next meeting is Saturday, September 17. Yarn and knitting needles/crochet hooks are available. If you have questions, contact Susan Greene.

Coffee & Conversation This Sunday

Stay after worship on Sunday for a Coffee & Conversation with the Transition Team. There will be an online conversation on next Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom, too.

Join Faith in Action for the final fourth Friday film of the season. Unlike previous viewings, this film will be shown onsite at Saint Peter. This is a kid-friendly event beginning at 6:00 p.m. Come hungry!

Bike Your Park Day Sept 24th

The last Saturday in September is Bike Your Park Day, an international event where thousands of cyclists ride in or to a park or public lands. This year Saint Peter Lutheran Church is organizing a family-friendly ride in Cherry Creek State Park on Saturday, September 24th. We will meet in the church parking lot at 9:00 a.m., ride to the park and enjoy a leisurely ride around the reservoir, enjoy a picnic lunch together, and return to the parking lot by early afternoon.

People to meet the riders with supplies for a picnic lunch are also welcome if you want to join the fun but don’t want to ride.

Please sign up on the iPad in the Narthex and invite family and friends to join the ride. The Saint Peter ride is also registered on the Adventure Cycling Association website (www.adventurecycling.org/) where you are welcome to register your participation and receive information about other cycling events.

When Is A Grocery Bag Not A Bag?

For those interested in weaving or crocheting mats out of used plastic grocery bags for friends of Christ in the City, put Sunday, September 25 on your calendar. Following Worship, Ms. Mary will set up shop in the Narthex to show you how to get started. Bring your plastic bags to church with you! It takes 600-700 bags to make a full-sized mat. We need as many donated bags as you can muster.
