DAY CAMP WAS AWESOME!!
A huge thank you to all who helped make Day Camp a success. About 75 campers, counselors, and chaperones filled the halls of Saint Peter with singing, paint, crafts, songs, snacks, bikes, and of course, the “Hippo Song.” How can you more fully live into the charge of extending grace and unconditional love?
BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS SUNDAY AUGUST 6
During worship on Sunday, August 6, we will bless all students and their backpacks – as well as teachers, coaches, and anyone engaged in caring for, teaching, and loving our kids. Bring your school bag, briefcase, lunch bag, water bottle, coach’s whistle, stethoscope, ANYTHING symbolizing your compassion and love for children! We will pray for you as we mark the beginning of another school year. Remember to bring your gear with you to church on Sunday, August 6!
FAITH IN ACTION DOCUMENTARY NIGHT JULY 28 @ 7 P.M.
Saint Peter’s Faith In Action (FIA) committee is hosting a documentary viewing and discussion on Friday, July 28th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Bethany L.'s backyard. The evening is designed to raise awareness around the opioid and fentanyl crisis. We will view “Killer High: The Silent Crisis.” This documentary explores the impact of fentanyl as a multifaceted public health and public safety issue.
FIA’s mission is to spark conversation, foster curiosity and embody God’s love. We will discuss the issues through our faith-based lens. How can we educate ourselves as a community and bring compassion to the narrative surrounding addiction?
All are welcome to come and bring a friend. Please bring a light snack to share. Beverages will be provided. Dress for the weather, as the showing will be outdoors. Please RSVP to Jeanne Maloney (jmaloney@stplc.org) if you plan to attend or have any questions.
LINDA JACOBSON VISITS SAINT PETER SUNDAY AUGUST 20
Linda served as an ELCA Medical Missionary in Arusha, Tanzania, from 1985 until retirement in December 2018. Linda continues to work in support of ministries developed through Selian Lutheran Hospital and the Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre (ALMC). One special focus is helping widows become self-sufficient by selling hand-made goods. On Sunday, August 20, hear Linda's message during the service in-person or over Zoom.
