FIND YOUR VOICE

While you browsed the ministries in the newsletter last month or perused the tables at the Ministry Fair, did you find yourself drawn to a particular opportunity? Prayerfully considering joining a Saint Peter ministry can be part of discovering your voice. To find your God-given voice is to discover your way of expressing yourself, of giving back, of serving others and expressing your faith. The congregation can be the place to find ways to express our voice and the voice of Christ in the world around us, so that Christ’s love can be known and shared. Consider participating in a Saint Ministry and discover new ways to pursue your spiritual passion and find your voice!

MEMORIAL FOR SHARON BRUEN OCTOBER 7

Sharon Bruen, long time member of Saint Peter and mother of DJ Bruen, completed her baptismal journey on September 18, 2023. A celebration of Sharon's life and legacy will be held on Saturday October 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Peter Lutheran Church. A reception will follow the service.

FAITH FORUM CONTINUES

Please plan to join Pastor Mike after worship in the Fellowship Hall for a Faith Forum series on Civil Discourse. How can we grow in community and faith while addressing issues in the modern world with love and grace? All adults and high schoolers are welcomed to join. There will be supervision for children (infants through elementary school). The class will be streamed live and recorded.

FAMILY MINISTRY UPDATES

SUNDAY FUNDAY REMINDER

Please help your child remember to bring back the Family Page each week!  Last week, we learned that it’s not what we say, but what we do that matters. This week, it’s More Vineyards! We discover that God sends us Messengers. We will learn ways to live with integrity, choosing to do the right thing, even when no one is watching.

MOTORIZED MINISTRY

We need a driver for October 15. Interested? Contact Ms. Mary (mpratt@gmail.com).

RECYCLE OLD CRAYONS

The challenge continues! We have until Thanksgiving to fill the bin! Help care for our beautiful earth in this imaginative way. Let friends know we’re collecting used and broken crayons to keep them out of landfills, as most include a petroleum-based ingredient.

THE NURSERY IS OPEN

All parents/guardians are required to fill out a registration form before leaving their child/ren. Nursery during church is for infants through age 5 only. Care provided during Faith Forum expands to include kids in elementary school. Parents/Guardians of children needing supervision after worship must go to the nursery to sign in with the nursery attendant, Kelsey. Kelsey will offer a graham cracker snack for kids who are staying for extended hours on Sundays. Guardians must sign children in and out.

LOCK YOUR CARS

You may have seen on the news that a string of Sunday morning car break-ins has been reported at churches in Jefferson County. Stay alert, lock your car, and keep valuables out of sight when your car is parked at Saint Peter.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Inviting a friend or coworker to work on a home with you helps build our community in more ways than one! Reach out to Brittany Hass (bbrjunebug@gmail.com or 602-684-3056) to get involved! We have the following spots reserved for Holy Hammers:

Saturday, December 9 at the New Construction site, Mountain View Homes from 8:50 am to 4:30 pm

Saturday, January 20 at the New Construction site, Mountain View Homes from 8:50 am to 4:30 pm

Saturday, February 24 at the New Construction site, Mountain View Homes from 8:50 am to 4:30 pm
