...LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE! JOIN THE TRANSITION REFLECTION ON AUGUST 25

Join the Transition Team to discover Saint Peter's gifts on August 25 after worship in Fellowship Hall.

After poring over the responses from our first group Reflection, the Transition Team has some updates! We heard from folks who value the sense of family and belonging here at StPLC. We heard from people who are excited for more community outreach, on-site experiences, and support groups. Many congregants expressed a hunger for consistent adult education. We heard from people that are grieving. Some folks have a lingering sense of loss over pastoral and staff departures. Overall, we learned that Saint Peter is a resilient and vibrant place with committed and loving members. Thank you for your vulnerability and willingness to engage.

We heard your stories and learned about the rich history of Saint Peter. After prayerful consideration, our next direction is to delve into who we are now. On Sunday, August 25 after worship in Fellowship Hall, come introduce yourself. What gifts do you bring? What resources are hiding in the toolkit that will propel our vision of "boldly sharing Christ’s love ... [being] a welcoming church community focused on supportive relationships, vibrant worship and transforming faith into action"? In this time of transition and beyond, lay leadership and participation is vital!

Did you notice the posters all over the church? Do you see your gift reflected there? Are you an organizer, an evangelist, an artist, a teacher, an administrator, a leader or a behind-the scenes hero? Are you an avid reader, baker, bird-watcher or artist? "No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house ... [L]et your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:15). What's your light?

On Sunday, August 25 after worship, we will have interactive, fun ways to discover the repertoire of gifts, passions, interests and potential at StPLC. There will be no sign-ups or commitments. Come share your secular and sacred resume!

HELP OUR NEIGHBORS!

Grab a blessing bag (or several) on your way out of church! A water bottle on a hot day could save a life on the streets. Thank you for supporting this vital ministry of encountering Christ among us.

UPDATED CHURCH HOURS

To best support the staff, the church office will be open Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHO'S WHO AT SAINT PETER?

Last time we had you guessing about Gerry Rasel! Gerry joined Saint Peter in 2017. She has four beautiful grandchildren. Gerry has walked the Highline Canal twice and will start the 177-mile Denver Orbital Trail this fall.

This week's mystery member is a business owner and a twin who enjoys reading and gardening. They have been a member at Saint Peter since 2006. Any ideas?

Have some news or a story to share about yourself or your family? Send some trivia and a picture to Arielle (awilson@stplc.org). Get to know the folks in the pews!
