“ALL OF THEM WERE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND BEGAN TO SPEAK IN OTHER TONGUES AS THE SPIRIT ENABLED THEM” - ACTS 2:4

Thank you to the Pentecost lectors! It was so fascinating to hear the variety of tongues! Did you imagine being part of that fiery, windswept Pentecost miracle? The lectors were: MARIE LOUISE WOOD (Swedish), PAM PRICHARD (Spanish), TERRI MOHRHAUS (Latin), ALLEGRA REIBER (French), DARLENE BEALS (German), JONAH HASS (Italian), and MARK GUEBERT-STEWARD (English).

PASTORAL CARE

If you want reliable and empathetic pastoral guidance or simply a listening ear, please reach out to Pastor Vera to arrange a time to talk. Stephen Ministers are also available for compassionate and confidential care.

UPDATED CHURCH HOURS

To best support the staff, the church office will be open Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

PASTOR MICHAEL TEKRONY

We are blessed to welcome Pastor TeKrony as our interim beginning in June!

From Pastor TeKrony:

Siblings in Christ of Saint Peter, I am surrounding you in prayer as you give thanks for the ministry you have shared with Pastor Vera.  She is a loved and respected colleague, and I give thanks to God for her loving and faithful service to you and God’s Church as a whole. I will join you in a couple of weeks, and if you would like a glimpse into one of my spiritual practices, feel free to check out my humble web site: www.revealingspiritthroughnature.com.  By the way, Pastor Vera is very gifted behind the lens also. Just sayin’.

Blessings on your journey together,
Pastor Michael TeKrony

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY OF FAITH, BENJAMIN!

On May 12, we were blessed to celebrate with Benjamin Nathan Knoll as he was welcomed into the faith and hope that we share through the waters of baptism. Ben was presented for the sacrament by his parents Jesse & Mallory Knoll, his godparents Andrew & Amy Knoll, and by his grandparents Jerry & Carol Mayer and Mark & Mary Knoll. Welcome to our family of faith, Ben, and to the promises of Christ. “You have been sealed by the Holy Spirit and marked with the cross of Christ forever.”

AFFIRMATION OF BAPTISM

On May 19, Caroline Downing Brodin and Gracie Lena Davis affirmed their baptismal vows by saying “Yes” to God’s call upon their young lives. We rejoiced to hear their public declaration of their intent to let faith in Christ play a strong and central role in their lives, and we are excited to see what is next!

DAY CAMP VOLUNTEERS AND SPIRIT DAYS!

“Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers” ‭‭(Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭13).‬

Day Camp is coming July 8-11! We will have four faith-filled college students from Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp visiting to serve as our counselors and guide the kids through learning that we are all “Created to Be…Loved, Present, ME! (Our Unique Selves), Disciples, and Agents of Change.” Help us be hospitable by offering to host/house 2 or 4 counselors for the week, or to share a lunch or supper with them one day during their visit. Contact Andy Mohrhaus (mohrhaus.a@gmail.com) for more information and to sign up.

DAY CAMP SPIRIT DAYS: Turn t-shirts into Friendship Bracelets!

Join the Day Camp Spirit Days opening challenge! Starting Memorial Day Weekend (May 26) and beyond, wear any Rainbow Trail or Day Camp shirt to church on Sunday and score a Friendship Bracelet from the Day Camp team’s bracelet bucket! Once you register (free!) for day camp or volunteering, a bracelet is yours, too. Bonus:  share a selfie in your shirt at any other church or service events in June to win a bracelet (send pics to Arielle or Ms. Mary). How many bracelets can you collect? Watch for more Spirit Day challenges as we get closer to Day Camp July 8-11! Register today!

GET TO KNOW SAINT PETER

Introduce yourself! Get to know the stories and histories of the faces you see on Sunday. Send Arielle (awilson@stplc.org) pictures and a few trivia pieces, and you might be featured in an upcoming newsletter. Make connections and start conversations with your Saint Peter community!
