GOD’S WORK. OUR HANDS.

On Saturday 9/7 volunteers worked for Habitat For Humanity: Holy Hammers. On Sunday 9/8 folks headed downtown to serve lunch with Volunteers for America. Friends and family organized the StPLC music library for a new season of adding joyful song to worship. Others assembled snack bags and activity kits for Ronald McDonald House, tied blankets for the Linus Project, and decorated bags for Project Angel Heart. Thank you to all the participants, organizers and volunteers who joined together and did God’s work with our hands!

CHOIR STARTS TONIGHT AT 7PM!

The first choir rehearsal of the season is on September 11 at 7 p.m. Do you have questions about the time commitment? Are you interested in singing for Christmas or Easter? Connect with Beryl Fanslow Wilson (bfanslow@stplc.org) to learn how to make choir a part of your worship experience. Music elevates a joyful service every week - come and explore your faith in a whole new way!

WHO'S WHO AT SAINT PETER?

Last time we had you guessing about Jed and Allison Summerton! This pair had their first date at a James Taylor concert on July 19, 1977. The Summertons are a musical family. Everyone plays at least one instrument. Jed knows how to play 13 different instruments and once appeared on stage with Johnny Mathis! Their three daughters were born with OBX sand between their toes. Those daughters now live 9 time zones apart. Allison has done extensive research for the US Congress and the Colorado state legislature to inform policy and legislation, most notably on the Affordable Care Act before it became law. Jed is a handy guy who has had a storied career in IT which included time in the NASA control center. A real feat? This duo loved three daughters through 12 years, 2 months and 9 days of teenage years.

COVENANT CUPBOARD OPPORTUNITY - SEPT 28

King Soopers at Belleview and Yosemite will offer a live food drive on Saturday, September 28th where we staff a table and collect donations from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. If you are interested in helping with this, please connect with Laura (guthals@msn.com).

SAVE YOUR POP TOPS

The Ronald McDonald House serves as a "home away from home" for many folks with hospitalized children. The Pop Tab Recycling Program is an easy way to support this valuable resource. Simply pull off your beverage can tabs or soup tops (anything with a pull tab!) and bring them to church! We will collect them in a large jar in the narthex for delivery and recycling.
