Worship Servant Sign-Up Open To All

In addition to Pastor Michael, we need Saint Peter Lutheran Church members to help make our Worship Services flow. Please consider participating as an assisting minister, a lector (onsite or on Zoom) or as a host. Many volunteers choose the same Sunday every month, but you’re also welcome to try it out once to see what you think or reserve a few dates that you know you’ll be available.

If everyone at church volunteers at least one Sunday in 2022, the calendar will be filled for the rest of the year!

If you are new to a role, you will be provided training. The worship coordinator will send out monthly reminders. If you have questions, concerns or ideas, contact Allison Summerton.

Hybrid Brown Bag Book Study

All are welcome to join the Brown Bag Bible Study that meets each Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. for fellowship (bring your own lunch if you choose) and Bible study at noon until 1:00 p.m. The group is meeting both onsite in the Fellowship Hall and online. Sign in to the worship Zoom link to join online.

Currently, Pastor Michael is leading a conversation based on Barbara Brown Taylor’s book An Altar in the World. Taylor shares how she learned to encounter God beyond the walls of any church. From simple practices such as walking, working and getting lost in deep meditations on topics like prayer and pronouncing blessings, she reveals concrete ways to discover the sacred in the small things we do and see.

Get yourself a book and join in the exploration of how we can grow deeper in our faith through everyday experiences with the Divine.

May 13 & 14 Youth Events

Both middle schoolers and high schools are invited to bowl at BOWLERO in Lone Tree with the kids from three area churches on Friday, May 13th from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $33 and includes food, drinks and shoe rental.

Then the next day, all high school youth 15 years of age and older are invited to Project CURE on May 14th from 10-12 p.m. to sort and pack medical supplies to be sent directly to Ukraine. Please let Miss Mary know if you would like to attend either or both events

Next Spring StPLC Property Work Day This Saturday

The StPLC Property Team invites you to help with the next cleanup day on May 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. Bring loppers, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, trash bags, etc., and stay as long as you can. All ages are welcome. We look forward to making the outside of the church as inviting as the inside.

Covenant Cupboard Friday Volunteers Needed

Covenant Cupboard is in dire need of volunteers on Fridays as well as occasional weekday morning subs for donation pickups. Friday shifts are generally from 9 a.m. to 12 noon for sorting and preparing donations/purchases for distribution AND/OR from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. for the actual distribution. Arrangements can be made if you are unable to work a full 3-4-hour shift.

On May 14th, the US Postal Service is holding its Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. This event had been held annually prior to COVID. We were the fortunate recipient from the Dayton PO collection three years ago, the last time the food drive was held. It resulted in about 8,000 pounds of canned goods!

While it is great to get such a large donation, we need extra volunteers to sort the food received from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. AND/ OR 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th at Covenant Cupboard located at 5400 S. Yosemite St. Please contact Laura Guthals if you can help!

One More LIFT Sunday + Survey

We are gathering for one final LIFT on Sunday, May 22, to celebrate and share a meal together! All are welcome to this All Generation Faith Formation activity whether you participated in LIFT during the fall session or spring session or none at all!

3 Upcoming Habitat Opportunities

There are two Habitat volunteer days this spring. Let Brittany Hass know if you would like to participate.

Opp 1: Production Shop (Painting) Volunteer Day – May 20th

Opp 2: Construction (Aria Townhomes) Volunteer Day – June 11th

And this third event isn’t about volunteering as much as it is about fundraising and showing our support! Who wants to be part of a Saint Peter walking or running team?

The 2nd Annual Holy Hammers Hustle for Habitat is a fun three-mile walk this Saturday, May 14, at 9:00 a.m. benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. Join us to walk and support safe and affordable housing.

• The race will be held at Cottonwood Park West: 8830 Apache Plume Dr, Parker, CO 80134

• There will be a trophy and a $100 gift card for our biggest fundraiser. Invite friends and family to donate, referencing your name.

Let’s Watch 'Encanto' May 27

You are invited to an all-ages viewing of the Disney film, Encanto. Mark your calendars for Friday, May 27th at dusk (around 8:00). You don’t want to miss the return of this much-loved Saint Peter tradition: watching movies outside on the Saint Peter lawn (near the parking lot).

All are welcome. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to see what the Saint Peter community is all about. Popcorn will be provided. Bring your own drinks and a lawn chair or blanket.
