Annual Meeting IS NOW Sunday, February 19th

Saint Peter’s Annual Meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 19th following the 9:00 a.m. Worship Service. See this coming Sunday’s newsletter for more details.

Contemplative Ministries’ Zoom Meditations

Join us on Monday mornings at 7:30 for a time of prayer, meditation, reflection and community. Whether you have been practicing meditation for a while or are just getting started, StPLC’s Monday Morning Meditation is for everyone!

The Zoom link is the same one used last fall. Click here or find the Zoom link on the StPLC.org home page.

EPIPHANY BLESSING OF THE HOME

Just like we’ve done the last two years, you are invited to take a “Blessing Bag” home to mark your front door for Epiphany. You can find the bags with chalk and instructions for blessing your doorway near the Family Ministries info board in the Narthex or in the bin outside the doors on the east side of the building.

CHALLENGE: This year’s door marking is 20+C+M+B+23! Can you decode the message? Put your guess in Ms. Mary’s mailbox or in the bin outside with your name on it for a fun prize!

Congratulations to Jonah, Phoebe, Cole, Maggie, Gavin, and Lauren for already figuring it out! Prizes are in your church mailbox.

STAR WORDS AND JOURNAL

Look for the “star words” at the Family Ministries info board in the Narthex and in the outside bin for a special opportunity to reflect this New Year (also Epiphany Season).

HERE’S HOW THIS WORKS: Choose a star without looking. Take it home and put it in a prominent spot for you to see often. Decorate it and/or write notes on it, whatever you like to reinforce the practice. Pay attention to how this word shows up in your life.

This is not meant to be “one more thing to do,” but rather, think of it as a gift (like what the magi gave Jesus). Additionally, there are blank journals available for additional star reflection. When you are ready to release your star, share it with Ms. Mary so she can hang it on a Narthex wall for all to see.

GROCERY BAG CHALLENGE CONTINUES!

Ms. Mary meets monthly with four area church family ministers and outreach coordinators to brainstorm ideas and support one another and plan group events. For our next gathering, we’d like to combine the social and the service by collecting grocery bags to re-purpose into braided sleeping mats for the unhoused - just like we did for Christ in the City and GOD’S WORK. OUR HANDS.

Bring your used grocery bags to church and place them in the Narthex collection box or in the bin outside the administrative doors. The church that collects the most bags between now and Ash Wednesday will receive the traveling trophy, which currently resides at St. Gabriel Episcopal Church!

Worship Servants Needed

Please consider being a Worship Servant during Sunday morning Worship Services. Whether you attend onsite or online, there are ways you can get involved during our time together.

All you have to do is follow this link and sign up by adding your name to the date slots you are available. If you are new to serving, the church office will provide all you need to prepare.
