...LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!
Thank you to all the participants who joined the conversation after worship on August 25. It was delightful to explore the God-given gifts that make up the Saint Peter community. This is a resilient, service-oriented, hospitable family of faith. Check out the board in the narthex this Sunday in person or in the newsletter! It’s a colorful bar graph that illustrates the “resume” of Saint Peter: the values, gifts and talents. Do you see your interest, passion, talent or curiosity reflected there? Grab a sticky and add your piece to the puzzle that is Saint Peter! Where is God leading us? Stay tuned for more reflections as we travel this season of change together. With God’s help, what will we do? Where will we go?
UPDATED CHURCH HOURS
To best support the staff, the church office will be open Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHO'S WHO AT SAINT PETER?
Last time we had you guessing about Jody Hinsey! Can you guess who this young gentleman is? He has been a Lutheran his whole life. In fact, his grandfather, uncle and cousin were/are all Lutheran pastors. This former StPLC council member is an avid skier who heads up to the hills 20 times a year. Who is it?
Share your story! Send some trivia, fun facts or stories and a picture to Arielle (awilson@stplc.org). Get to know the Saint Peter community and start conversations with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
BLOOD DRIVE THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 31
Join the Blood Drive at Hope United Methodist on August 31. Donations are from 8:30 – Noon. Book your donation today! Visit donors.vitalant.org or call 877-258-4925!
RUN, SAINT PETER, RUN!
The 5K was a smashing success on August 24! Check out the race results in the Narthex and explore the Tanzanian Health Ministries display.
SAVE YOUR POP TOPS
The Ronald McDonald House serves as a "home away from home" for many folks with hospitalized children. The Pop Tab Recycling Program is an easy way to support this valuable resource. Simply pull your beverage can tabs off and bring them to church! We will collect them in a large jar in the narthex for delivery and recycling.
SUPPORT GOD’S WORK. OUR HANDS.
We need your help! This is the final call for help purchasing supplies for GWOH! Search for “GWOH Giving Day 2024” in the Amazon gift registry or please visit this link. All supplies need to be delivered to the church no later than Friday, September 6. We will wrap it for you and spread love to Volunteers for America and Ronald McDonald House. Thank you for your support!
Able to join in person? On Saturday 9/7 you have the opportunity to build community and volunteer for Habitat For Humanity: Holy Hammers (7:50 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at 10700 E Evans Avenue). On Sunday 9/8 you can head downtown to serve lunch with Volunteers for America (10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at 2877 Lawrence Street). Or stay after worship and help organize the StPLC music library or assemble snack bags and activity kits for Ronald McDonald House, tie blankets for the Linus Project, and decorate bags for Project Angel Heart..
Pick up a flyer in the narthex or check out the newsletter this Sunday for all the details! Email Jody Hinsey (jody@gmail.com) to ask questions or to sign up.
