Greenwood Village, Colo. – Saint Peter Lutheran Church is hosting a Community Conversation with former First Lady of Colorado and author, Helen Thorpe, on March 24th. Thorpe’s latest book, The Newcomers: Finding Refuge, Friendship, and Hope in an American Classroom, follows the lives of twenty-two teenagers from around the world over the course of one school year as they land at South High School in Denver. A refugee with the Colorado Refugee Speakers Bureau and Lutheran Family Services Refugee & Asylee program will also be at the event to share her insights.

When: Sunday, March 24th; complimentary lunch at 12:30 pm and conversation from 1:00-3:00 pm. Book signing immediately follows.
