Have You Heard? 8:00 a.m. Sunday In-Person Worship Service
Sunday Morning Eucharist takes place in the courtyard at Saint Peter beginning at 8:00 a.m. (weather permitting) with three seating options for those who prefer less distancing, more distancing, and stricter distancing. We continue to practice no-touch communion, and worshippers are invited to drop their offerings off in the locked and secured mailbox near the office entrance. Participants are invited to bring bread and wine (or crackers and juice) or use one of the sealed communion kits provided by Saint Peter.
Attendance is currently limited to 50 worshippers per service. A sign-up link will be provided on Saint Peter’s main web page by Tuesday evening. If we reach capacity, those who place their name on the waiting list will be contacted if there is a cancellation, or be given priority to sign up for the following Sunday.

FIA’s Focus On Environmental Justice
Last week, the StPLC Faith In Action team launched its summer/fall focus on environmental justice with the documentary screening and discussion of Before the Flood. In addition to an upcoming Faith Forum Series, book discussion and other events, FIA (and others) will also share tips and ideas for how you can live into your faith by being a thoughtful steward of the Earth’s resources.
This last week, our tip has to do with contacting your legislators.
Creation Justice Ministries is organizing a day of action to ask our congressional leaders to invest in climate action and creation justice on Friday, August 27th. The event includes speakers and resources to empower you to call on our political leaders to protect God’s Creation and our communities. Register here: https://creationjustice.salsalabs.org/actforcreation/
If you have expertise or experience on a specific environmental issue, please share with the rest of the Saint Peter community! Send a note to Sara Lancaster with the details.
September 11th & 12th Is A Big Weekend For Family Ministries
Get Your BINGO Prizes
Oh no! Miss Mary still has more BINGO spaces to cover! Can you see which places are blank? Hint: Let’s hope she can find her dancing shoes for one of them!
It is NOT too late to fill in spaces. You can download the card here, and there are even some BINGO sheets in the outside bin near Fellowship Hall, so you can still totally participate in the activities that help us to be more like Jesus!
Take a picture of your BINGO card and send it to mpratt@stplc.org by Sunday, September 5, so Miss Mary has time to gather your prizes! BINGO prizes will be given out at the end of outdoor worship on Sunday, September 12! You will also be recognized at Zoom worship that same day, too.
And remember, BINGO is NOT just for kids! Who will be the first to fill in ALL the spaces, keeping our faith vibrant over these summer months?
Blessing of the Backpacks
On Sunday, September 12th, bring your backpack to outdoor worship or have it with you on Zoom worship so we can bless you and your backpack! We would love to include ALL ages!
If you teach or work in a school setting, or teach faith formation, or teach English to refugees, or tutor/teach a skill to others, and so on, bring your laptop bag or travel bag or any item you’d like blessed. Or just come as you are and let us bless you.
Let’s face it: We have another challenging year of learning differently, and we know “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”~Mark 10:27
Selian 5k Fun For Kids
Miss Mary is busy planning some family-friendly fun for the Selian 5k Run/Walk event. During the run/walk, there will be lots of opportunities for kids of all ages. If a child doesn’t want to do the run/walk with parents or grandparents, they are welcome to stay behind with Miss Mary, and helpers, to enjoy the playground, make chalk pictures, toss water balloons, paint a rock, make a stress ball, create slime to take home and other fun stuff.
We will be collecting items for The Plaster House, which will be taken to Arusha, Tanzania in October. Items most needed for the children include:
● art supplies
● underwear
● socks
● leggings
We will also make pictures to send with the collected supplies. Click the link below for the short video “A Glimpse Into The Plaster House”: https://youtu.be/SZoNb89XCns.
Kids should still register for the Selian 5k so that they can get a t-shirt and prizes for participating: https://runsignup.com/Race/CO/Englewood/Selian5k
See you on September 11th.
