Blessing of the Backpacks This Sunday
This Sunday we are blessing backpacks, lunch boxes, school bags, briefcases, stethoscopes, coach’s whistles … anything that represents your love of children! ALL are welcome to come and be blessed! We have a treat for ALL to remind you that you are unique and loved. Please come to church with your item to be blessed.
A Blessing For The New School Year
This prayer is adapted from For Everything a Season and is a wonderful way to send your school-aged loved ones on their way.
Gracious God, you have promised to be with us always. Be present with (name) during this time of preparation for school tomorrow. Give (name) an open and eager and calm mind. Wrap your loving arms around all your children, and guide them with your love. Amen
Are you already in the habit of blessing each other at night time? A simple “Jesus loves you and so do I.” can be a simple and sacred way to end each day.

God’s Work. Our Hands. Begins Sunday, August 28
God’s work. Our hands. (GWOH) at Saint Peter will look different this year. On Sunday, August 28, we’ll kick off the seven-week event with a special Worship Service and an equally special Mission Fair that will take place throughout the building - and includes food and fellowship on the labyrinth!
The Mission Fair will be your chance to learn more about some of the issues Saint Peter members are very passionate about, take part in fun activities and sign up for service projects taking place before October 9. Because on Sunday, October 9, we’ll celebrate what participants completed and glide into stewardship season.
If you’d like to get involved ahead of time, reach out to Sara Lancaster or Jeanne Maloney.

Bike Your Park Day Sept 26
The last Saturday in September is Bike Your Park Day, an international event where thousands of cyclists ride in or to a park or public lands. This year Saint Peter Lutheran Church is organizing a family-friendly ride in Cherry Creek State Park on Saturday, September 24th. We will meet in the church parking lot at 9:45 a.m., ride to the park and enjoy a leisurely ride around the reservoir, enjoy a picnic lunch together, and return to the parking lot by early afternoon.
People to meet the riders with supplies for a picnic lunch are also welcome if you want to join the fun but don’t want to ride.
Please sign up on the iPad in the Narthex and invite family and friends to join the ride. The Saint Peter ride is also registered on the Adventure Cycling Association website (www.adventurecycling.org/) where you are welcome to register your participation and receive information about other cycling events.
